Comments: The Currituck Skatepark
is referred to as Maple Skate Park. Currituck Parks and Rec hired
North West skatepark builders Grindline to design build the first
phase of the park. The crew went above and beyond their call of
duty. Catering to the park/bowl side of skating There are allot
of elements squeezed into a small area, making this one of the
most unique and challenging parks on the East Coast.
Keep in mind, with positive support and feedback
and a genuine interest in future growth there will be another
phase in 2008 that will address the street side of skateboarding.
They are currently raising money to build some decks and get some
of the hill side stable with grass.
There are facilities out there for grilling, bathrooms,
and shade. Great place to bring the family and fish or play on
the playground. There is a strict No dogs and No alchohol
rule at the Maple park. There are frequent patrols so respect
your skatepark.
