Charleston SC Spring Fever Weekend
Rain, cold, and sea wind, all bad elements to skateboarding. After weeks of less than desirable weather here on the Banks we hit the road and headed south to sample brethren like terrain in Charleston SC. With temps in the 80's and no rain in site we hook up with Bob Hart and John Horne and get into some new spots with flairs of jank, and a killer session at the property of Hank Beiring. The Hanger, nothing compares to the scene out there. The Hanger bowl is as good as it's ever been and to have Hank and his family invite us for some food apre sk8 just made the whole trip a total success. Heart Shaped pool and Bo-Jang-eliese anybody? The new 17 bridge in Charleston. Headed to Mt Pleasant We meet Bob and follow him to Isle of Palms. Somewhere on the coast we find this backyarder. Matt Allen has got a good thing going, cracks a good one on the 8ft wall. James throwing a frontside on the 8ft wall. Bob lays down the RnR Jesse with the smith Bob over the blow hole Jesse eggplants Matt backside air Jesse cracks one of the 8ft wall. Colette with a little mid sesh maintenance. No flash and a feeble over the steps at a backyard beauty, James. What Skatepark..... Perfect Lurker? Over to John's who def knows how to ramp up the jank! John off of the Luan Love seat to truck smash. John is a tattoo artist who lives on James island with his family and is one layed back dude.. Turn up the jank, alot! Money is on the deck.... John steps up.... and wins two dollars....the 5 was his. Jesse gets it done. Out to Hanks. Here is the new bowl out there. Pretty solid little 6/8 footer. Skatelite and fast. Chris throws on up over the hip. Looks like I got that slam Chunk. Chunk grabbing tail around the corner. The Hanger bowl is still as good as ever. Sumpter flies out of the deep hip and front board slides into the shallowend. Old Joe steps up into the deepend and rips one loose Chunk just got back from King Crab fishing in Alaska, back home he carvegrinds the deep end. Happy Birthday Dad! We miss you Randy Lowe! R.I.P. Jesse welcomes guest into Bob's house with the blunt.... Grab a seat over there by the fireplace... Skate to the kitchen and grab a couple of cold ones..... Slap a rock n roll, thanks for the pic Bob... Throw a huge boneless in the living room, James... and throw the dog a ball.... We are all headed there inevitably.... Death Burgers for dinner Voted worst place to stay on 95...... The James, hair says, we are headed home.
