Headed out to LA this weekend with Skylar (my 10 yr old son) to do some skating around the LA area and then hooking up with AAS Mon for a drive to San Diego for a demo at the Carlsbad Park. We'll be traveling in an RV. I know we have a few things planned before we make our way to the XGames on Thurs the 31st. I'll post back as they develop. For now it looks like we are riding in the Superpark Fri afternoon for a Adaptive Amped Riders Demo at 3:30pm. I'll be leaving Fri night to make it back for a family wedding. Congrats Kristen and Tim!

Here are a few pics of the Superpark layout. I'll have my older camera unless some kind of miracle happens and my Nikon shows up in the next two days. Stay tuned. rob

Sat morning with a nice around noon departure, we head to Newport News and ease on into our week of travel...

Tiny jet.

Big jet, watching Jim Carrey movie...

Looking for our rental car in a sea of rentals in LA...

We hooked up with Keith Stephenson in Venice and headed over to The Cove Skatepark in Santa Monica around 6 pm west coast time.

Like this park? YEAH!

fly outs have to be done...

Skylar getting a nice 5050 on round wall...

Keith here blasting. This bowl was 11 ft deep. Pretty fast to. Ripper.

Almost cropped out backside ollie. He had these pretty darn smooth.

had to post it. ha!

Next morning, top down, american muscle car rental upgrade. You would be surprised what some people will work out for you if you ask and speak "common sense". Ten dollar upgrade. Ha!

Roller Coaster park from hell. Six Flags in Valencia. Hot, CROWDED, and some of the best coasters in the country. That one that looks like a 1/4 pipe, on the right, goes 110 mph!

Couple more looking North.

We cruised out to Malibu to check out the scene. About 50 people in the surf at dark. Not a bad day at the Bu. It was waist high.

The wall at Malibu could surely tell some good surf stories.

Here is a glimpse of the bowl we are riding. Looks crazy.

Mon we did some sight seeing around Hollywood. Taking the stang out into some good roads in the canyons around Beverly Hills. After a little lunch we returned the car and got hooked up with Oscar and his wonderful mom. We skated Downey, which is his home park and waited for the RV to arrive. The next few days are to be on the road.

Skylar ollies for the governator on Hollywood BLVD

Why wouldn't you?

After Dan puts in a 12 hour driveathon, we got to our site around 4 in the am. Yes the sides pop out and it sleeps 10 people.

Ryan is from Downey and gets tre flips for a little game of skate 9am. That's a make.

This was literarily about the same time as the quake. Driving south on the 5 around noon Tues morn.

Skylar getting some rest

After some breakfast we hit the Y in Encrinites. Great park bowls, flow park, and giant vert ramp.

This bowl is fast.

Local way across the Deathbox.

Around 6 we get to the Carlsbad park to skate and do a demo for Challenged Athlete Foundation. We meet Jill who runs the CAF and we help a few athletes with some skateboard hints.

Pretty fun park to just get your weird on.

Evan helps out Troy with some pointers.

Taking it down into the park with Troy.

Best feature in the park. Chris gets his rock on.

Oscar dropping hammers.

Oscar drifts and stomps the back 180.

Evan kicks up a bean plant over the pyramid.

From left: Oscar, Troy, Evan, Dan, Amy, and Danielle.

Evan signing for all the fans.

Tues we get to our Hotel back in LA and meet with all the riders for MotoX and Skate. Getting ready for the games tomorrow. Check back for some updates Fri.

Thanks!
